There are three varieties of lotuses, one with large pink flowers that are 30 cm in diameter and on long stalks; another of the rosea variety, which has smaller, fuchsia-coloured flowers; and the white ‘Xiangshan Lian’ cultivar. In the largest water reservoir you can see the jewel of the collection, Victoria cruziana, propagated in the research greenhouses and grown to a size suitable for display. From June to October they are all in full bloom.
